I would much rather shut the government down than cede more power to an unrestrained narcissist and his unelected sponsor/hatchetman.

CA resident here - I absolutely and completely support your position, and I hope you'll be able to convince all our Democratic Senators to vote no on this terrible CR. Thanks for all you're doing, and for keeping us well informed

Thank you, Mr. Senator. Talk to Fetterman, and use small words.

I read several posts Mr. Fetterman put on social media and it's unlikely to be worth talking to him. There must be seven others who intend to vote for the CR for it to pass, and surely some of those would be more hopeful candidates for showing sense and courage. I have to believe these Senators aren't listening to the people in their states. They need to do their own town halls like the Ds in the House. I personally am shocked by Schumer though. He's long past his expiration date and I am not being ageist.

Fetterman is going to be primaried so hard that Hell won't have it anymore. My Pennsylvanian friends are *pissed.*

They could probably run a hog in the primaries against him and win.

I’m a fellow Pennsylvanian. The John Fetterman of 2025 is not the person I voted for. He has abandoned us and gone to the dark side.

He will never have my vote again.

Please tell me that there is not a chance seven Democratic senators will vote for the CR. Surely, we aren’t really afraid of being “blamed” for the shut down since the Republicans have a majority in both houses. They have control, if it shuts down it is their fault, not ours.

Yes, he is. As he talks out of both sides of his mouth his actions are complicit in the destruction of our democracy. He needs to be removed from the Senate leadership. Concerned NYS voter.

Republicans, Fox-Murdoch folk, and their ilk will blame Democrats for everything that they see as detrimental, regardless of whether or not Democrats vote for a 6 month, 1 month, or no CR. By voting NO on this proposed bill, you are saying that giving Musk-Trump unfettered power is unacceptable. Therefore, NO on this bill is the only option for people of conscience. Mr. Fetterman’s argument to vote for it does not make sense in light of the current situation and behavior patterns of Trump and Musk. Thank you Senator Schiff.

Mr. Fetterman is basically maga now. He caved before inauguration day. His constituents in my county despise him. Yet another feckless move.

From out here, it looked suspiciously like Mr. Fetterman changed abruptly and drastically after he returned from a... stroke, wasn't it? I do wonder if he might have had a change in personality in other respects. It can happen. Medical events do weird things to people.

Please don't say that because my lovely, mostly progressive, Rep Dwight Evans is just recovering after a stroke! )-: So far, so good. He's still having town halls and even adding a segment about getting/updating your passport. (-:

As someone who supported John Feckless, I will never give him one excuse for what he did to the constituents who supported him. There is no excuse for John Feckless and you will never hear me call him Mr. again. He is a total travesty and a shill for Trump.

With you all the way on this one! The pain of a shutdown is much less than the pain this budget would cause our country and our international relationships. Keep the pressure on! I say this as a retired federal employee who lived through several shutdowns with little damage except loss of a week or two of work. Typically Congress will also provide back pay for furloughed employees.

Mr. Schiff, you were a little quiet when you first entered the Senate, and I wondered what had happened to the fiery House rock star for whom I had repeatedly voted in 2024. Well, I see he's back, and I am so grateful for that! Thank you for fighting with everything you've got (which is a lot).
