Thank you Senator for laying this out. I consistently observe your organization and clarity when you choose to speak. You don’t ramble. Combined with your ethical judgement, you are someone I will trust and carefully listen to every time you speak.

I agree. I look for any news from Adam Schiff. I still see in my minds eye the calm , intelligent evidence @ prior impeachment!

Trump has zero class.

Can we stop pretending that Trump isn't wagging the dog? He is distracting from his "Big Beautiful Bill", the negative response to the ICE raids, his humiliating military parade and the millions of Americans who are protesting him.

Remember the old days when we knew we would have a law abiding, Constitution following person leading us and didn't have to worry about a human wreck, mentally, emotionally and psychologically out of control in the White House?

How could we have possibly voted such a classless and unqualified man as our President again? It boggles the mind 🤦‍♀️

If you wear this 8647 t-shirt in front of MAGAs they won't get it because they can't do math! 👇 🤣

This is one of the hot, tough topics this week. The other is people have had it with anonymous Gestapo ICE running around in masks and no badge IDs. This can’t be us Adam. This can’t be allowed. If they want to act like thugs hired by white nationalists, they need to be unmasked!

Carol's avatar

How about if they stop acting like thugs and disappear! No gestapo, no masks, no ICE, HSI or whoever they are. Maybe they are just repurposed Proud Boys? Who knows?

Stop supporting Genocidal Israeli criminal Netanyahu!

I do not support the current far-right Netanyahu administration. But you need to understand 2 simple facts: 1) Israel has had the bomb (actually, the much more powerful Hydrogen bomb) for decades but has never used it. 2) Iran has repeatedly called for the total destruction of Israel and has continually worked for the development of atomic weapons to do the job. As much as I dislike the current government of Israel, Israel has the right to defend itself. And an atomic or nuclear attack on Israel by Iran would likely send Iran back to the dark ages. That would be a start towards a never-ending cascade towards disaster.

You should have voted to impeach! My Democratic party is disappointing

you do know that the Democrats are in the minority in both houses and have no power right now, right?

Teach84's avatar

Yes, we know that. But most of them voted no today when they were presented with Al Green’s article of impeachment for the felon bombing Iran without Congressional approval. Who are the Democrats working for? Obviously NOT their constituents.

Tracy L Rowe's avatar

as nice as it would be to just yell "Impeach him" there has to be a solid case. While it can be argued that Trump bypassed Congressional approval to bomb Iran, the democrats who voted against impeachment felt they didn't have a strong enough case to impeach. And, let's face it. Why bring him to impeachment for a third time with a weak case and no support from the party in power? It was humiliating enough for America the first two times when exceptionally strong cases were brought against him and the Republicans voted to acquit. Why do it again?

I get it. My point is that the Democrats could have at least voted for their constituents, even knowing the chance was slim that it would pass.

I do not understand why so many people like you fail to understand our Constitution and our nation's history. Impeachment is a simple matter that just requires a majority vote of the House. And, it was Adams Schiff who led the successful impeachment of Trump during Trumps first presidency (TWICE). But the next step, "conviction", requires a 2/3 vote of the Senate. This has never happened in our nation's history and it highly unlikely to happen. Actually, Trump would just love the idea of being impeached again. He would argue, as he argued during his first term, that he is completely innocent of any wrong-doing. And ever if impeachment followed by conviction were successful, we would end up with Vance as our new President. Vance´is just Trump with brains.

I understand our constitution better than most. I taught it for over 30 years. You missed the point I was trying to make about Democrats standing up for the will of their constituents. I had no disillusionment about the felon actually being impeached or tried and convicted. I’m moving on from this topic.

Not voting for impeachment means they support what he is doing. This is much like all the other lack of initiative that the Democratic Party shows, including the bragging Schiff and other do.

Ummm - I think this is the sanitized American propaganda version of why Iran has nuclear facilities. The US actually assisted Iran in the development of the capability with an eye towards peaceful use of nuclear energy, promoted as far back as Eisenhower. https://www.iaea.org/about/history/atoms-for-peace-speech The US then partnered with Iran, headed by US puppet Shah, to develop the capability and provided resources and its first nuclear kit. When the Shah was overthrown - oops, US - now we want Iran to destroy their capability that we actually helped them develop. https://economictimes.indiatimes.com/news/international/global-trends/how-the-us-gave-iran-its-first-nuclear-kit-72-years-ago-and-then-mit-trained-its-scientists/articleshow/122052976.cms The bombing of Iran was a charade orchestrated by the Trump regime as puppets of Putin. Tsk tsk, Senator. Some of us believe facts more than what is fed to us. P.S. Why should ANY country have nuclear weapons? All those with the capability should destroy it, including the US.

Mr. Trump doesn't care who has nuclear weapons. He only cares about his personal needs and wants. The courts have stated his use of military as domestic law enforcement is illegal because we are not at war, and there is no threat of invasion. Now... he has drawn us into a war as an ally, and we are hearing the propaganda referring to Iranian sleeper cells ready to wreck havoc here in the US. If Congress affirms that we are at war by admission or declaration, the doors are open for Trump to call out the military without regard to the moral or legal implications. Clever strategy #1. Clever strategy #2 is that he sorely needs a distraction from all the revelations coming out about his forays into Epstein-land, voting machine manipulations, newer charges at the state levels, massive demonstrations, and the list goes on. I don't get how Congress seems to not get this...
