Your neighbours are busy and going to a lot of expense shoring up the damage from Hurricane Donald. Which means pivoting to Europe, and might mean, for example, fewer firefighters available. Not that we don’t like many of our US neighbours, in fact many of has family there. The water agreements between the two countries is torn up so this year’s fire season will be interesting. Canada is now 4 th in line holding US debt. If we suffer anymore damage it might be necessary to cash that debt making it a lot harder for the US to finance its debts at junk bond rates. I think it’s naive to think Canada will come to the US’s aid on anything after this unless US citizens change the situation on the ground, in the congress and in the Senate and lay serious groundwork for a new election. We can’t do that. Only you can.

I lived for many years in the place five generations of my ancestors have lived, just south of Glacier/Waterton Peace Park. I grew up always having Canadian coins in my pocket alongside US coins.
My best friend is a Canadian. I served with Canadian officers in the MFO in 1990-1991. Some of my ancestors were born in Canada and came down to the US looking for work, and stayed. It really saddens me because my daughter is studying political science and international affairs and longs to help her country, the USA, but one wonders if it will accept that help because of her ethnicity.
